The national student information literacy promotion practice activity is an information exchange and demonstration activity organized by the Education Technology and Resource Development Center of the Ministry of Education and aimed at the whole country. Starting in 2000, this activity, formerly known as the International School Student ICT Innovation Competition of China, is a nationwide exchange and exhibition activity aimed at promoting the information construction of basic education in China and showcasing the practical achievements of information technology education for primary and secondary school students. The activity theme "practice, exploration and innovation" has played an important role in stimulating initiative spirit, improving practical abilities, and developing quality education, with far-reaching social significance.
This activity, with sub-contest areas in various provinces and cities across the country, is a well-known heavyweight event for primary and secondary school teachers and students, and provides the important reference for comprehensive evaluation of students and special admission. The LEGO FLL (Challenge) project, as one of the internationally renowned LEGO top-level events, has extremely high value. From 2021 to 2022, more than 680,000 children from over 110 countries and regions worldwide participated in this competition. LEGO FLL provides a platform for children to communicate and showcase, and sets up three categories of projects: "digital creation, computational thinking, and sci-tech innovation practice", so as to encourage primary and secondary school students to exercise the practical abilities through the process of creation and sharing, cultivate the spirit of exploration, and develop the ability to "discover, analyze, and solve problems". This activity must go through multiple stages including district competition (selective trials), city competition, provincial competition and national competition, and the promotion to national competition usually involves the top three and above competitors at the provincial or municipal level.
